Job Responsibilities

  • Compensation (Range): / hour: Salary: 17-19 HR
  • Electric Motor Manufacturing Technician
  • On site: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Pontiac Engineering Center, Building E.
  • We are searching for a self-motivated individual to fill the role of ENTRY LEVEL Prototype and Pre-Production Electric Motors Technician. In this position, you will be responsible the construction of prototype and pre-production electric motors for product and process validation and development. Additionally, you will participate in BPD, GMS and on-site training programs. If you are passionate about innovation and possess strong problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
  • Participate in BPD/GMS process, to meet strategic plans.
  • Document and track all department deficiencies through various problem-solving techniques.
  • Build prototype and preproduction electric motors in accordance with the build schedule.
  • Analyze motor defects and perform repairs as required.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop welding process for new motor designs.
  • Modify and build simply fixtures and tooling.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, and motor lab equipment (lathe, drill press, mill, robotic welder, wire forming machines)
  • Perform motor electrical tests in accordance with authorized procedures.
  • Maintain records on work performed, analyzes data collected and reports results



Job Requirements

  • Hands on mechanical experience
  • Associate degree or experience in mechanical or electrical activities.
  • Prior prototype build experience
  • Knowledge and theory of electric motors
  • Manufacturing knowledge of electric Motors
  • Knowledge of assembly build processes in Manufacturing
